Unlocking the Gospel Door With the Key of Medicine |

January 2010 |
Happy New Year
May the Peace of God, which passes
all understanding, and the Joy of the Lord, which is our strength,
be yours now and throughout the New Year as you prosper and be in health even as
your soul prospers.
New Year's Challenges
A New Year with new challenges and fresh excitement and enthusiasm to accomplish
the work of the Lord and to see the furtherance of reaching the Kanuri with the
gospel through medicine. I plan to return to Nigeria February 17th for our
annual winter outreach to the villages where we will continue to seek approval
and procurement of the land for the clinic. I have had no new update on the
progress of the approval since my return in November, but I know that God is
continuing to move sovereignly upon the hearts and lives of the right people to
bring this to pass.
Another thing that I do know is that I need to bring more medicine. During the
November outreach I only had enough for 2-3 clinics. However, with the new
luggage restrictions by the airlines the cost to transport has increased as
well.
This is also the time of year when I am privileged to participate in the
Pastor's and Minister's conference in Jos the first week in March. I am really
excited about this year's conference, as the Lord has been filling my heart and
mind with material regarding this year's theme, "Stepping Into Kingdom
Influence".
Family Update
All is well in the Koontz household as we begin 2010. Lauren received, last May,
the doctor's acknowledgment of what God told us in January. She was tested again
and they could find no evidence of seizures. So, they took her off all
medications saying she was not epileptic! Praise God!
As you know January is a busy month of celebration around the Koontz house.
Robert and Lauren will celebrate their 16th birthday on the 10th followed by
Kristen's 14th on the 30th. In between, Sarah and I will enjoy our 32nd
anniversary on the 21st.
Needs Met
We want to again thank all of you our faithful partners who stood behind us in
2009 with your prayers, words of encouragement and financial support. We rejoice
to report that all of our expenses incurred for the two outreaches to Nigeria
last year were met because of your steadfast giving and support. We face many of
the same needs as we look forward to 2010 with the expenses of travel,
medicines, and ministry.Your faithfulness enables us to go and fulfill that
which God has called us to.
