A Long Year Gone
The time grows short as I am planning to leave Saturday the
28th for our fall outreach to Nigeria and will be gone until November 9th. This
will be the first time in year that I have been out to the villages of Yale,
Yauiri and Bazamri and truly feel a sense of homesickness in seeing the
villagers again and being with our Nigerian team. As you know in February when
we went to Nigeria, they were having trouble in Maiduguri with the Muslims
killing Christians and burning churches. Currently the trouble that we are
hearing from Nigeria is the increase in lawlessness in general not necessarily
directed at Christians.
Needs Met!
We are rejoicing in the awesome love and support that we have received this month from you our partners. The budget of $1500 to buy medicine and shoe packets has been completely met! Praise God! Our deep appreciation to the congregation of Calvary Open Bible, Pastors Kip & Debi Harriott, in Clearwater, FL., for their sacrificial giving in this endeavor and to Pastor Kip for entrusting us with his pulpit to minister to his people. Also, we are so grateful to Pastors Francis and Silvia Proctor of Speake Christian Fellowship in Alabama for giving us the opportunity during their Missions Conference to share our needs and burdens and to the congregation there along with the many visitors and missionaries who heard the plea and dug deep to meet this expense.
Outstanding Expenses
There is still the need of $4000 for trip expenses and we thank you in advance for your help in meeting this as you sow into the work of the Lord to bring the light of the Gospel to a dark and forsaken land. The trip expenses are not just for the airfare, meals, lodging, tips, etc, but we also pay all expenses associated with these outreaches for not only ourselves but also the faithful Nigerian team that God has raised up to work along side of us. This of course includes meals transportation and always a small offering to try and help show our deep gratitude for the sacrifice they are making as they share in our vision and help carry the burden.
February 2007 Outreach
It is not too soon to begin planning for our first outreach in 2007, tentatively scheduled for 20th of February to the 12th of March. As always this trip will include a week of teaching and ministering at the Pastors and Ministers Conference in Jos with our host Rev. Maiwa'azi Dandaura as well as our clinics in the bush. We invite you to join us on this mission for all or part as your schedule allows. You will enjoy an experience that will last a lifetime even if you never venture to another foreign field. How many times have I heard saints say that they went on a mission trip to be a blessing but instead were abundantly blessed themselves. Join us won't you as we continue to obey God's call to Carry the Gospel through medicine to the Kanuri of Nigeria.
Your Servants In Christ,
Larry - Sarah
